ROY G BIV Gallery for Emerging Artists is an independent, nonprofit art space located in the historic Short North neighborhood of Columbus. Founded in 1989, ROY G BIV has shown the work of hundreds of artists and is known for presenting excellent, challenging work by artists from around the country with an emphasis on Ohio artists.

ROY G BIV's mission is to support vibrant, emerging artists by presenting exhibitions that increase the public's awareness of the artists' work while enhancing the cultural diversity of Central Ohio. ROY G BIV nurtures artists who choose to live and work in Ohio and who might not otherwise be able to find a venue to exhibit their work. An artist who exhibits at ROY G BIV receives educational feedback and constructive criticism from jurors, the public, his peers and, often, the press. The artist's work is offered for sale with a gallery commission lower than that of commercial galleries. Inclusion in a ROY G BIV exhibition is often the opportunity that an emerging artist needs to make the step up to gain commercial gallery representation.

An anchoring presence in the Short North since its founding, ROY G BIV supports neighborhood activities and arts groups, participates in Short North group fundraising activities, hosts outside organizations in the Gallery space and cooperates with other neighborhood galleries in events and promotional efforts.
